My research focuses on understanding how machine learning and AI systems behave in realistic environments and developing methods to improve their reliability. My work combines empirical evaluation, theoretical analysis, and algorithm development to study how the structure of data, interactions, and environments shapes AI behavior. This spans relational and networked data, where I studied representation learning, inference, optimization, and statistical biases introduced by graph structure, as well as modern AI assistants and agents operating in long-horizon workflows. My current research seeks to understand and improve AI behavior through realistic evaluation, simulation, grounding, adaptation, and learning from interaction.
